Go Local FXBG operates community-based programs designed to build workforce readiness, support nonprofit organizations, and strengthen opportunity across Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania County, and Stafford County. Each program is intentionally structured to deliver hands-on experience, measurable outcomes, and long-term community impact.
Youth Internship & Career Pathways
(Launching Full Program Fall 2026 - Semester Based Launching Now!)
We are developing a Youth Internship & Career Pathways Program for high school and homeschool students across Virginia's Planning District 16, connecting youth to real-world workforce development experiences with local nonprofits and community organizations.
What Students Learn:
• Professional development (resume writing, interview skills, workplace communication)
• Nonprofit operations, community engagement, and project management
• Career exploration in multiple sectors (education, public service, marketing, event planning)
• Leadership skills, teamwork, and accountability
How Students Participate:
• Semester-based program with flexible scheduling for high school students
• Paid internships with local nonprofit partners across Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County
• Supervision and mentorship from Go Local FXBG and host nonprofits
• Aligned with Virginia's CTE (Career and Technical Education) standards for work-based learning
Program Impact:
• Students gain 50+ hours of work-based learning experience per semester
• Nonprofits receive affordable staffing support to expand their mission capacity
• Builds a pipeline of future nonprofit leaders across Virginia's Planning District 16
How to Participate:

Community Entrepreneurship Accelerator
We are developing the Community Entrepreneurship Accelerator to support underserved adults across Virginia’s Planning District 16 who are rebuilding or redefining their economic future.
This program will provide career-ready and entrepreneurship training for individuals facing barriers to traditional employment, including returning citizens, veterans, women starting over, and adults seeking pathways into business, digital media, and marketing.

Support for local organizations and small businesses — beginning with nonprofits first — focused on sustainable growth, local business marketing, and operational systems.

Marcus Toler
Founder & Executive Director
Go Local FXBG was founded by Marcus Toler, a longtime entrepreneur, marketer, and community builder based in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
For over 15 years, Marcus has worked at the intersection of small business growth, marketing, events, and community engagement, helping local entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and organizations increase visibility, generate revenue, and build sustainable systems — not short-term wins.
Founded by Marcus Toler, a marketing strategist and community builder with over two decades of experience supporting local businesses, nonprofits, and community initiatives, Go Local FXBG blends professional execution with lived community insight.
Through his work across marketing, media, events, and workforce-focused initiatives, Marcus repeatedly saw the same gap across Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania County, and Stafford County:
Talent existed. Motivation existed.
Clear pathways, support systems, and access did not.
Go Local FXBG was created to close that gap.
