Go Local FXBG is recruiting business owners, professionals, and community leaders to mentor high school students through our Youth Internship & Career Pathways Program — a structured, school-aligned Work-Based Learning experience serving Fredericksburg, Stafford County, and Spotsylvania County.

What Mentorship Is (and Isn’t)
Mentorship is…
- Structured support inside a school-aligned Work-Based Learning program
- Career exposure and guidance from local professionals
- Workshops, Q&A sessions, project reviews, and coaching
- Helping students connect effort to outcomes (portfolio, resume, confidence)
Mentorship is not…
- Unstructured volunteering with unclear expectations
- “Free labor” or job duties for students (this is educational)
- Weekly babysitting or last-minute scheduling chaos
- A big time burden — we coordinate everything
